Industriales Qualifies for Semifinals

The baseball team from the City of Havana, Industriales, qualified for the semifinals of the 49th Cuban National Baseball Series on Friday by defeating Sancti Spíritus 8-3 at the Latinoamericano Stadium. An intergalactic homerun with the bases loaded by fan favorite Rudy Reyes in the sixth inning put the home team ahead and they never looked back.

Cuban Guitar Legend Leo Brouwer Turns 71

Leo Brouwer, one of Cuba’s greatest musicians, is turning 71-years-old this month. Born in Havana in 1939, he started composing music in 1955. Musica para guitarra, cuerdas y percusión and Suite No. 1 were two of his first pieces.
